Remember when you were a kid and they would test the Emergency Broadcast System… and there never was a weather related emergency?
Well, here is southeast Virginia, that bloody thing goes off at least once a week. We are currently under a tornado watch. Sheesh! Where is this severe weather coming from all of a sudden?
Not that I need another obsession…

*MILD SPOILER ALERT*
In other words, he cheated.
I won’t give too much away, but if you are a fan of the franchise, you know what I’m talking about.
Don’t get me wrong , I enjoyed that film very much. But for people, like me, who can not abide by alterations of the space-time continuum and most aspects of time travel, parts of the film were a bit hard to swallow. However, in order to choke it down, I will have to separate it from the “known” Star Trek universe.
As a stand alone film, it was awesome. The performances were excellent, the special effects were spectacular, the art direction was brilliant. People who don’t enjoy Star Trek will probably like it.
I give it 4-1/2 stars out of 5. I took off 1/2 point because I didn’t like the fact that Spock and Uhura break about ten Starfleet regulations just by their *eyebrow waggling*”behavior” on the transporter pad and by her ordering a superior officer around.
Edited to add: …and ladies, even if you don’t like Star Trek or science fiction, just go for the first fifteen minutes to gaze upon this!
